A Message From the Conference Chairman The 2007 Snow & Ice Conference and National Snow Roadeo theme this year, Above and Beyond, brings to the forefront the obstacles we endured this past year. All across the country, snow and ice operations were faced with challenges to keep highways, streets, bike lanes, sidewalks, downtown business districts, and parking lots open for emergencies and daily commuters. What you do and the work that you accomplish affects the lives of the public and this conference brings together all levels of our industry to network and share experiences from the winter of 2006/2007, which was arguably one of the worst in history. Despite the circumstances, snow operation teams throughout the country met the challenge. In recognition of their outstanding performance, the theme of this year’s conference is Above and Beyond: Pride of the Public Servant. These severe conditions provided new experiences for managers, supervisors, operators and mechanics. That information, and more, will be shared in three days of education, training and roundtable sessions. Approximately 80 vendors will exhibit the most up-to-date technology and equipment, and the conference’s major sponsors will offer one-hour sessions on a variety of topics. The conference also features the National Snow Roadeo – a popular competitive event that tests equipment operators’ knowledge and skills. A special addition will be the American Traffic Safety Services Association’s National Work Zone Memorial - a living tribute to the men and women who died in traffi c work zones. As chairman of the conference, I encourage you to come and see what others consider the fi nest Snow Conference & Roadeo in the country. Sincerely, |
